Heatherwood School and its school council work together as a partnership. The School Council plays a key role in the school with some of its responsibilities being:

  • Developing plans to ensure the schools future
  • Approving and monitoring the schools budget
  • Developing and monitoring the schools Code of Conduct
  • Generally stimulating interest in the schools policies
  • Advocating on behalf of the School Community

The 'Friends of Heatherwood' Group meet each term at school. They seek to provide support, extend communication links, facilitate friendships and support school functions.

Through the support of 'Friends of Heatherwood', the school has hosted information sessions. Guest speakers have been able to update parents on topics such as Respite and Centrelink Services (including Disability Support Pension and other allowances).
